Understanding the New Zealand health system is important for everyone, whether you’re new to the country or simply want to make the most of the care available to you and your whānau. To support this, the Western Bay of Plenty Primary Health Organisation (WBOP PHO) hosted Your Health Journey, a free online webinar held on 19 November 2025, now available to watch anytime.
What the webinar covers
The webinar provides clear, practical information about how to access healthcare in Aotearoa. It explains how the system is structured, who can access publicly funded care, how to enrol with a GP and where to go for different kinds of support.
It was led by a team of health professionals from general practice, pharmacy and hospital services, including Wendy Dillon (WBOP PHO), Linda Southby (Bay of Plenty Community Pharmacy Group), Dr Bhuwan Poudel (local GP) and Chloe Corbett (Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty, Te Whatu Ora Health NZ).
