Te Rerenga: December 2025 edition – A new year on the horizon

Welcome to the December 2025 edition of Te Rerenga. This issue reflects on a year of change, partnership and progress across our network. We acknowledge the leadership of Lindsey Webber as she steps away from the CEO role and welcome Sarah Stevenson as interim CEO. You will also find stories that highlight the strength of local leadership, trusted relationships and community-led care.

This edition includes the launch of the Let’s Talk Screening free online training, recognition for local leaders and teams, and sector-wide acknowledgement of Hāpainga for its contribution to smokefree kaupapa. We also share progress in childhood immunisation, including a powerful whānau story that shows how trust, respect and relationships make a real difference. Updates from Tāpiri Mai mark a new phase focused on building whānau health literacy on Matakana and Mōtītī Islands.

Te Rerenga is WBOP PHO’s newsletter. It celebrates the work of our kaimahi, general practice, iwi partners and community services across the Bay of Plenty. It is a place to share learning, recognise contribution and reflect on what matters in primary care. Published quarterly, Te Rerenga brings together stories that reflect the heart of our health network.
