Kaimahi from WBOP PHO came together on 17 June to pilot and help refine the Let’s Talk Screening training.

Western Bay of Plenty Primary Health Organisation (WBOP PHO) invites non-clinical kaimahi to join a new, one-day training designed to build confidence in talking with Māori and Pacific whānau about cancer screening.

Let’s Talk Screening gives you the tools to have supportive, culturally safe conversations that encourage early screening and save lives. You’ll learn how to connect with whānau, address common concerns, and work within Kaupapa Māori and Pasifika models of care.

Co-designed with our community

This training is a collaboration between WBOP PHO, AvaNui Pasifika, Breast Screen Aotearoa, the Cancer Society, Te Manawa Taki Health NZ, Wairiki Whānau, and the Pacific Island Community Trust. It’s grounded in local insights and lived experience, with practical tools to apply straight away.
